New Trainings!
The SDU staff is excited to announce the following new webinars.
- Attendance Coordinator Resources: Topics include attendance tracking, required annual trainings and forms, hiring paperwork for new employees, and separating employees.
- DOR Telework Policy for Staff: An overview of policies, procedures, and expectations for employees who plan to telework. Provides guidelines on accessing the telework application, applying for a Secure-Id Token, managing confidentiality, and achieving a successful telework arrangement.
- How to Write a Winning Statement of Qualifications (SOQ): A practical guide to writing a strong Statement of Qualifications (SOQ), including “do’s and don’ts” and examples of different types of SOQs. SOQs are being required with increasing frequency as part of state job application packages, making this training useful for all employees who wish to promote or change jobs within the state system.
- Style Guide: Provides guidelines on creating emails, memos, and accessible documents, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoints.
Mental Health-Related Trainings
Need a deeper understanding of mental health disorders and how to best serve consumers who have them? Check out our in-depth Mental Disorders webinar series as well as our Psychological Evaluations webinar. Both offer CRC credits. Details below.
- Mental Disorders: From Anxiety to Schizophrenia to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and more, this 11-part series is designed to educate DOR staff in the wide range of mental disorders represented in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition (DSM-5), with the purpose of equipping staff to more effectively serve consumers. (CRC credits available: 2.5 hours)
- Psychological Evaluations: Necessary and Effective Use: Provides a basic understanding of what psychological evaluations are, their primary uses, and guidelines for distinguishing between appropriate use and misuse/overuse of psych evals. (CRC credits available: 1 hour)

Hi Michele, Thank you for your suggestion. Your best resources for learning ASL would be to speak with your supervisor about taking training elsewhere or to look online for lessons.
