Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Resources – Wildfire Resources

As we are flooded with news stories about wildfires around the state and the devastation they are causing, this is a reminder that EAP is available 24/7 to help you and your family members, who may be directly or indirectly impacted, cope with a range of emotions and reactions, which can span from shock, sadness, fear, anger, to feeling traumatized.

The following link provides information regarding wildfires, https://soceap.magellanascend.com/Content/View/17218. Remember, EAP is a great resource and offers virtual solutions, such as, BetterHelp and the FearFighter and MoodCalmer apps, which can be accessed on EAP website home page, and are especially helpful during these times. To speak to a clinician or access services, call 1-866-EAP-4SOC (1-866-327-4762) or login at www.eap.calhr.ca.gov.

In addition, Magellan’s free 24-hour crisis line is available for individuals, who are impacted by the wildfires in California, and are not covered by EAP.  The toll-free number to access free, confidential consultation services is 1-800-327-7451. Magellan will provide free, confidential consultation services and other resources, such as referrals to local non-profit organizations, shelters, and additional community-based support to assist individuals in California. These resources are offered free-of-charge to the community to assist individuals as they work to cope with the feelings of fear, sadness, anger, and hopelessness related to these kinds of natural disasters.
