I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Candee as Chief of the Cooperative Programs Section effective December 21, 2020. As Section Chief, Sarah will provide statewide leadership, oversight, and coordination of the Department of Rehabilitation’s many Cooperative Programs and other collaborative relationships.

Sarah has served in diverse roles of increasing responsibility throughout her eleven years of state service. Beginning her DOR career eleven years ago as a student intern in the Workforce Development Section, and through consistent growth opportunities and promotions, Sarah is currently serving as a Staff Services Manager I within the Cooperative Programs Section. 

Throughout Sarah’s career, extensive collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders has been central to her work. Sarah has management oversight responsibility for the $68.9M cooperative programs budget. Sarah has been actively engaged in the Youth Leadership Forum, the Bridge to the Future conference, and serves as co-lead on the California Community of Practice for Transition of Students with Disabilities. Sarah also provides leadership to all interagency agreements with the California Department of Education.
