Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Community Partners,
First and foremost, I want to thank each of you for the work that you do every day to advance employment, equity, and independence for Californians with disabilities. My time with DOR has been the most formative and transformative experience of my adult life and that is a direct result of working with all of you and learning from your wisdom, passion, and compassion. My most recent role here as Deputy Director over the Independent Living and Community Access Division has been the highest honor of my career, an opportunity I will cherish for the rest of my life.
So, it is with a heavy heart full of gratitude that I announce my departure from DOR to pursue a new opportunity in state service. For so many of us, this last year has been a time of unprecedented challenges and self-reflection about our paths in life, and while I have decided that my path will now take me elsewhere, I will bring DOR’s spirit and passion for service with me. My final day with DOR will be March 1st, after which I will transition to a new role as Program Director in the recently established Homelessness Coordination and Financing Council (HCFC). Recognizing that housing insecurity disproportionately impacts people with disabilities, I am excited for this opportunity to help take on one of the biggest crisis we face as a state.
It was been a joy to work with all of you, and I look forward to the opportunities we will no doubt have to partner again in the future. I remain a resources to all of you in service to others and in our shared vision for a more equitable and just California for All.
