The utilization of Preferred Names in letters allow staff to print the consumer’s Preferred Name instead Legal Name if requested by the consumer. Consistent with DOR policy, this revision to the letters supports individuals with disabilities’ right to select and be addressed with their preferred name that reflects their identity. For information on how to add Preferred Names in Aware, please refer to the Aware Training Materials v6.9.
